Andrew McEvoy has been a dedicated performer from an early age. At 18, he was asoloist with the Richmond Symphony Orchestra and was featured on National Public Radio’s "From the Top," having already performed at prestigious venues across the country including the Smithsonian Institution and the Getty Museum in Los Angeles. Andrew continued his career by obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from VirginiaCommonwealth University - Magna cum Laude with a special award for distinguished achievement in performance. He was a founding member of The Richmond Guitar Quartet, performed alongside the Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra and the VCU Symphony, and was a Jesús Silva Merit Scholar. He is currently pursuing graduate study at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory. He continues to share his love of music with the public through weekly performances for concert series and special events and functions in the Richmond, Washington D.C.,and Baltimore metropolitanareas. Andrew performs a mix of Classical, Spanish, Latin American, Jazz and Contemporary Music. His formal training allows his performances to evoke the beauty and elegance of the great masters of the guitar while maintaining a passion for new interpretation and music which is sure to delight audiences of all kinds. Andrew has also been an active teacher and mentor for developing guitarists fornearly a decade. He currently directs guitar studies at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia and is available for private instruction by appointment.
