Brandon Davis was born in Galax, Virginia, home of the oldest Fiddlers Convention in the world. At an early age, the Davis family exposed Brandon to lots of music. At the age of 10 he started learning the bass backing up his Dad on the guitar. It wasn’t long before he turned to guitar himself. Getting instruction from his father Gary Davis, Brandon learned fiddle tunes and bluegrass standards. Living in the musically rich hills of southwest Virginia , he got the opportunity to hear and play with some of the best roots based musicians in the country. As an incentive Brandon was challenged by his Mother and Dad to learn the tune "Blackberry Blossom". If he learned the tune in its entirety then they would purchase him a Wayne Henderson guitar. With a desire to play all of the time Davis learned the tune and his parents kept their end of the deal by buying him the highly sought after instrument. Brandon started competing in local contests and fiddlers conventions allowing him the chance to perform and jam with different musicians sharpening his skills. In 1997 Davis competed and won the prestigious Wayne Henderson guitar championship earning him a 2nd Henderson guitar. In March of 2005 Brandon won yet another Henderson guitar by taking top honors at the South Carolina State Guitar Championship in Hartsville, SC.

Other contest wins include the Doc Watson Flatpicking Championship, New England Flatpicking Championship and top three honors at the National Flatpicking Championship in Winfield, KS. Brandon’s major guitar influences are Doc Watson, Tony Rice, David Grier, Kenny Smith and Brent Mason just to name a few. Aside from music, Davis can be found spending time with his family, wife Jenny and children Evan and Gracie at their home in Independence, VA. He loves the outdoors where he frequently hikes, fishes, etc. He makes a living as an IT professional.
