Brian got his start with music at the ripe old age of 11 and has been at it ever since. A player who’s as comfortable on Bluegrass mandolin as he is on his trusty ’72 Telecaster, Brian has the versatility to play in a number of genres. His favorite influences are BB King, Duane Allman, Clarence White, Bill Monroe, Billy Gibbons, David Lindley, Joe Walsh, Grant Green, and Merle Haggard. Over the years, Brian has shared the stage with Lee Roy Parnell, AJ Roach, Wayne Henderson and Helen White, Chip McNiel, Scott Fore, Juevos Diablos, Doug Bickel, Lindy Fralin, Poverty Creek and Carrie Johnson among others. Brian currently resides in Richmond, VA where (in addition to running Virtual Woodshed) he takes the occasional country or bluegrass gig, plays guitar in church, harasses Lindy Fralin on a regular basis and spends a lot of quality family time with his wife and two kids.
